Find new posts: Under "Quick Links" above on the left below the fiddle.
Change your settings: Under your name on the top right under the search window, User Control Panel. There you can manage subscriptions to topics or forums, and notifications options, such as being emailed when something is posted to a forum or topic, among other things.
Under the Board Preferences tab, you can change multiple settings, including Display Options, which is useful if, like me, you like to read the most recent posting first. A little exploration of this area is warranted.

I've gotten used to the "like " function.... Is there one ...yet?

Re: Hints for using this site.
So I looked around a bit and there is a "thanks" button that can be installed as an add-on, similar to a like button, but since this is a quite recent version of phpbb3, this add-on hasn't been updated yet to work on this version yet, but it is in process and I think it would be a good idea to install it once it is in release (right now it is in testing/development, and I don't want to mess with it until it is released).

I looked around, including at the FAQ, but I don't see how to set up notifications, which I assume are by Email, or to turn them off. Any tips on that, Bob? Thanks, Steve
