The Huron Township Applefest invites all fiddlers to participate in the 30th Annual Michigan State Championship Old-Time Fiddlers Contest on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 3:00 pm in New Boston, Michigan.
Fiddlers register at 2:00 pm and draw for places at 2:30 pm. There is a $10.00 registration fee. Contestants will be required to play a waltz, a schottische, a jig and a reel, all in a manner suitable for Michigan-style old-time dancing. Contestants will be judged on timing/tempo, intonation, expression and repertoire. First prize-$200, second prize-$100, third prize-$50.
