I was going to write all about Billy, but as Jim Eldon has done it much better that I, here's his article from Musical Traditions magazine. http://mustrad.org.uk/articles/harrison.htm

Just to show how tradition works, Billy used to ping the E string in Pop goes the Weasel, Jim (I think) got it from Billy, and I got the habit from Jim, while playing for The Goathland Plough Stots longsword team!
